Inktober

What is Inktober?

The month of October is more popularly known as Inktober.

As a calligrapher, this month is an exciting one for me. This year I am sharing the joy of inking with my audience by doing short tutorials in English and Punjabi. Every week of Inktober will have a different theme and everyday I will share a new writing tutorial

Supplies to help you get started.

Hi friends! If you're trying calligraphy for the first time, here are some supplies to get you started! I have personally used all of them when I started with calligraphy a few years ago! Enjoy!

Note: I have included Amazon links below. If there is an Art supplies store near you, please support them and buy from there.

Calligraphy Paper

It's important to have paper that is smooth. An insider tip: this paper has some lines to guide your writing and keep it straight as possible.

Pen & nibs

I use the Speedball Calligraphy Pen Set. It's simple, easy to use and inexpensive. I love the pen holder and use nib #512 the most. The other nibs are also great to experiment with.

Black Ink

The best ink I've used so far for calligraphy. It's high quality ink and I love the way it flows.
